Cigarette blamed for Kennewick brush fire

Kennewick Police say a fire that burned some brush along Edison Street near Columbia Park Sunday afternoon, may have been caused by someone tossing a lit cigarette from a car.

Kennewick Fire crews were able to quickly put out the fire before it spread too far.

It’s against the law to throw a  lit cigarette from a vehicle, as it can start a fire. Get caught, and you could be fined $1,025.00.
