A cow that has been on the loose for four days is expected to be caught Thursday or Friday.
Sergeant Ryan Boyce says the newly bought cow got out of the trailer Sunday and jumped over fence near Bombing Range. He was corralled into a pasture, but overnight the cow jumped the fence, again.
He was last seen Wednesday night near Van Giesen and 46th, but they didn't have the tools to corral the cow, so they left it alone in a pasture. It was spotted again Thursday morning near Keene and Kennedy Rd. and several officers kept it away from the roads and chased it into an orchard near the Queensgate area, before loosing sight of it.
Officers say the next time the "ghost cow," as they dubbed him on Facebook, is spotted, they'll call professional cow wranglers to catch it.
Boyce says the goal is to keep the large animal away from the community and off the roads where it could cause a crash.
