A school superintendent is on paid-leave after possible misuse of the district funds.

The Royal School District posted a statement on its website saying they have contacted an insurer to launch in investigation into the accusations against Superintendent Rose Search.

Board members say in the statement while Search is on leave they've appointed David Andra as acting Superintendent.

They say paid-leave is not a disciplinary action but the "board takes this action only to assure that the rights of all employees, including Ms. Search, are protected."

Board members will determine the next steps after the investigation is complete.
