Washington's attorney general released a statement Tuesday calling the recent reported odors that led to 26 workers seeking medical attention "shameful."

Bob Ferguson says he plans to meet with some of the workers later this week. In the statement he calls on the President and Secretary Moniz to become "personally involved with the issue."

"The events of the past several days are a disturbing illustration of why I filed a lawsuit against the federal government to protect Washingtonians who work at Hanford," says Ferguson.

He filed a lawsuit back in September 2015 regarding worker safety issues. Ferguson also said he plans to seek further legal action against Hanford.

Six more Hanford workers received medical attention Monday following reports of odors at some of the tank farms. This comes after 20 people were evaluated last week for the odors near the A, AX and AP farms. The AP farm is where waste was being transferred from failed double-shell tank AY-102.
