PASCO, Wash.-- As of Monday, Alaska Airlines has temporarily suspended all flights to and from airports in Portland and Spokane as the Pacific Northwest continues to battling widespread wildfires and hazardous air quality.

Alaska and Horizon have also canceled flights at smaller airports due to fire and smoke including Pasco and Walla Walla in Washington, Eugene, Medford and Redmond/Bend in Oregon.

Depending on the smoke conditions, flights could resume after 3:00pm PT Tuesday.

According to information released by Alaska Air, improving weather conditions in the coming days could begin to dissipate smoke in Portland and Spokane so that flights can resume as scheduled, however, other airports in the West could be impacted by drifting smoke.
