The man charged with murdering a West Richland woman last year has pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter and was sentenced Tuesday to 12-years in prison.

Pasco City Council to be briefed on fireworks Mon night
When the City of Pasco lifted its ban on personal fireworks in 2018, the number of police calls increased by 89, and by another 31 this July.
But, the number of fire calls have decreased in that time.

WA ranks 7th best state for child births
Washington is the 7th best state to have a baby in.
That's according to a new Wallet Hub survey that notes Washington rates very well in low infant mortality rates, parental leave policy and rates of low-birth weight and preterm births.

Two OR city councils consider taxes
Workers in Hermiston could get a bulk of their taxi rides to and from their job subsidized by the state.
The city council will discuss Monday night a proposal to create the "Workforce On-Demand Ride Cooperative".
Employees would pay 35% of the cost, while the rest would come from funds from Oregon's payroll tax increase for public transportation...
Pendleton crime report mixed
Good news and bad news from the latest crime report from the Pendleton Police Department.
While sex crimes were down almost 29% from July 2018 to June 2019, trespassing calls were up 22%.

Dam turbine oil leaks into Snake River
As many as 300 gallons of oil may have leaked from a Lower Monumental Dam turbine and into the Snake River.
That's according to the U-S Army Corps of Engineers in a disclosure to regulators, as well as to "Columbia Riverkeeper".
