Bellevue man named honorary firefighter for Franklin County Fire District #3

On Friday, a Bellevue man was named as an honorary Firefighter for Franklin County Fire District #3.

David Nelson donated a restored 1955 International fire truck back to its original home at Fire District #3.

The vintage truck is undergoing additional restoration at LePage Farms, owned by Bruce LaPage. LaPage is a retired volunteer firefighter for the district, and his father, the late Walter LaPage was one of the founding Fire Commissioners involved in purchasing the fire truck in 1955.

At the time, the firehouse was located on the family's farm. The original bay still stands, and that is where the vintage truck is being housed while it undergoes restoration efforts.
