BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-- When it comes to searching for the best American wineries outside of California-- Benton County ranks number one in the nation.


"Most important for Benton County is the award-winning wine," Jeff Herman, managing editor for LawnStarter, told Newsradio 610 KONA. "That's where Benton County scored over everybody else-- you have more award-winning wines than anyone else outside of California."


They survey noted that Benton County is the origin of 4 gold medal wines.


LawnStarter reviewed counties in the United States that grow and produce wine, and ranked them based on wines, visitor accommodations, and tasting options, among other factors, and Benton County came out on top overall.
