In an announcement on its Facebook page about 7pm Wednesday night, the Tri-Cities Fire indoor football team announced it would not be able to play this season. The first game was slated for March 14 at Wenatchee Valley. Many of the players found out about the cancelled season from the post below:

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE TRI-CITIES FIRE

The Tri-Cities Fire organization has had to come to a very tough decision this evening. Effective immediately on February 26, 2020 the Tri-Cities Fire organization will be closing due to financial stress.

We apologize for those impacted by this very tough decision though we were left without another option to choose from. Organizations such as ours can only survive on community support.

Unfortunately, without enough sponsorship support, and ticket sales that were stagnant; leading to the result of a financial strain that would not allow us to carry into the 2020 season and beyond. Again, we apologize for those impacted by this decision and we do appreciate those who helped make the 2019 season possible.

Sincerely,
Kinshasa Martin
