A Benton County Sheriff's Deputy and another driver were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a crash on the Hanford Site Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the deputy's patrol cruiser collided with another car on Route 4, near Canton Avenue.

Hanford Patrol responded and secured the scene to allow Washington State Patrol to investigate.

The accident caused delays in the afternoon commute, with Route 4 reduced to one lane to accommodate the investigation.

The Sheriff's Office had announced after the accident that it was increasing patrols in the area of Route 4 and Route 11 because of complaints about drivers running stop signs.

There's no word yet as to whether anyone involved in Tuesday's crash will face any charges.
