Fire destroyed least 6 tractors and one trailer in a truck yard at a business in Franklin County Saturday night.

Crews from Franklin County Fire District 3 responded to a report of trucks on fire at Harms Pacific Transport on Glade Road shortly before 10 p.m..

Chief Mike Harris said employees were working to drive other trucks away from the burning vehicles as firefighters were arriving on the scene.

Because there were no fire hydrants on the property, the fire agency relied on its water tenders, and several other surrounding agencies also responded with water tenders.

Franklin County Fire District 5, Walla Walla County Fire District 5, the City of Pasco, Benton County Fire District 1, Benton County Fire District 2, and Benton County Fire District 4 all responded to the fire with water tenders, each hauling at least 3,000 gallons of water. Some of the tenders refilled their tanks just down Glade Road, near the Tri-Cities Airport.

Franklin County Sheriff's Sergeant Paul Hill says the fire does not appear suspicious, but a fire investigator will sort through the debris to confirm that.

Sgt. Hill said there were no concerns about hazardous materials, though the property owner will likely have to do some clean-up if diesel or other industrial chemicals spilled during the blaze.

There were no reports of any injuries to employees or firefighters.

Investigators are expected to work on determining the origin and cause of the fire.
