The Connell Police Department no long has the ability to conduct investigations outside the city limits unless first getting permission from the Sheriff's Office.

On September 10th, Franklin County Sheriff Jim Raymond rescinded the working agreement that includes his deputies not entering Connell, unless it's an emergency.

"The City of Connell still has their E-911 services and contracts in place , they have their jail contracts in place, we'll continue to take their inmates on a daily basis", Sheriff Raymond notes.

A number of complaints filed by officers with Connell PD against deputies with the Franklin County have forced Sheriff Jim Raymond to make the unusual personnel move, but it's a move well within his duties.

"There didn't appear there was going to be any let-up of this complaining back and forth, so I made the choice to rescind my participating agreements with the Connell Police Department in order to stop this from occurring. The best thing to do is, for a lack of better words, when you can't get along in the sandbox, then we'll separate and keep people in their own lanes so we can go about providing the public safety to our citizens that we serve."
