The victim originally called 911 saying that Neil Doherty, 60, was suicidal, had a weapon, and had been drinking.

By then she had gotten out of the home.

When officers spoke with the victim, the learned that Doherty allegedly pointed a gun at her, though she was not injured.

On-duty SWAT officers from the West Richland Police Department, Benton County Sheriff's Office, and Pasco Police Department all responded the scene before Kennewick Police attempted to make contact with the suspect.

Once police contacted the man and asked him to come out of the house, he did so without incident.

Officer Becca Henry with the Kennewick Police Department says because a weapon was involved, Doherty faces 2nd Degree Assault charges.
