Search and rescue crews are looking for a 39-year old man who went missing while boating in the Snake River near Fishhook Park Saturday afternoon.

According to the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office, deputies and Columbia Basin Dive Rescue responded at about 2:40pm.

Witnesses say the man, identified as Jason Lee Robinson, jumped off of a boat into the choppy water to grab a hat that had fallen in, and quickly became overwhelmed by the conditions. He was not wearing a life vest. Others in the boat tried to rescue the man but were unsuccessful.

Robinson is presumed drowned.
