Concern about a missing man with mental health challenges prompted a modified lockdown at four Kennewick schools Tuesday morning.

Kennewick Police reported that a 19-year old man went missing from an assisted living home in the 4800 block of W. 3rd Avenue early Tuesday morning.

He was described as a Hispanic male wearing plaid pajama bottoms, a gray shirt, and no shoes.

Because the man is known to be drawn to children, several nearby schools were placed on lockdown status, allowing students to be brought in, but no one was allowed out of the facilities.

Edison Elementary, Hawthorne Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, and Highlands Middle School were all included in the lockdown.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after 9:00 am, once the man was located.
