Manton Way Fire Approximately 70% Contained

A wildfire that began just after 1pm, Monday is continuing to burn near the area of Mesa and Connell.

According to Franklin County Fire District #3, the Manton Way Fire has burned approximately 8,700 acres.

The fire closed Southbound US-395 Monday afternoon, with traffic being diverted onto SR-17.

No homes or structures have been damaged.

Crews from Benton, Franklin and Walla Walla counties, as well as state and federal agencies are on the scene.

The fire is at 70% containment.
