Minor injuries in driving while drowsy rollover

A Richland woman managed to escape serious injury after she fell asleep at the wheel and crashed south of Eltopia early Tuesday morning.

Washington State Patrol says the Sandra Munguia, 42, lost control of her car when she nodded off behind the wheel along Highway 395 just before 1am.

The car went off the road and rolled, landing on its top.

She was transported to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco to be treated. A passenger, Antonio C. Munguia, was also hurt and taken to the hospital.

Troopers say both the driver and passenger were wearing seatbelts.

Sandra Munguia was cited for negligent driving.
