A 33-year old man is behind bars at the Benton County Jail after an officer involved shooting on Tuesday.

Kennewick Police were called to a report of a wanted man residing in an outbuilding in the area of  West 4th Avenue and South Olson Street.

When officers attempted to contact Elijah Lull, he fled on foot.  He was confronted by an officer, refusing to follow commands.

The officer deployed his taser, which appeared to have no effect on Lull, who then brandished a firearm.  The officer discharged his weapon in Lull's direction.  Lull was not injured and dropped his weapon.

Lull was arrested for felony warrants, and booked.

The Special Investigations Unit has been activated.  The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave while the incident is being investigated.
