Oregon State Police are investigation a crash that left one person dead in Umatilla County Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

Troopers say the accident happened at about 8:40 PM along Highway 730 when a white 1999 Ford F-150 pick-up headed westbound crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed into a 2011 Volvo Semi Truck with flatbed trailer loaded with metal products.

The person driving the pick-up died at the scene. Officials have not yet released the drivers name, pending notification of next of kin.

The semi driver, Steven Unruh, 64, from Nampa, Idaho, was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston with undisclosed injuries.

The Oregon Department of Transportation closed down Highway 730 was closed for about 4 hours while troopers investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
