Friday was quite a day for the ARC of Tri-Cities Partners And Pals Summer Camp for Kids with developmental disabilities, at the 22nd Annual Model Airplane Fun Day.

The day was action packed at the Tri-Cities Radio Control Model Airplane Club's flying site, at the Richland ORV Park.

John Patton, President of TCRCM said "We turn our field over to the ARC organization and we have all these kids out here, and we put them on the buddy-box, where they can actually fly the airplane, with a pilot, who can control it. The controls are actually turned over to the kids and they can do their spins and they have a lot of fun with that."

Patton said the club has 30 members and at least 15 were on hand with 10 or 12 planes.

Patton added that, "We're happy to put it on and we're glad that we have this facility, and we're delighted that once a year we can turn it over to the Arc of Tri-Cities for the enjoyment of these kids."
