Police are encouraging parents to talk to kids about the dangers of talking to or getting into cars with strangers after a  thwarted kidnapping of two young boys that happened on Friday.

According to Pasco Police, Jose Luis Lopez-Gonzalez, 52, faces charges for allegedly luring the brothers, ages 3 and 7, into his car by promising to give them money and buy them toys.

The boys' uncle noticed that the boys were no longer riding their bikes, and went looking for them. That's when he noticed the children in the back seat of a Lopez-Gonzalez's car, and saw them man gesturing for them to duck down.

The uncle and an another adult male managed to pull the boys out of the car and contact police, who arrested Lopez-Gonzalez.

Officers say it's important to talk to young children about stranger-danger, and to teach them their full name, address, and phone number.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the kidnapping case to call Dispatch at (509)628-0333 about case PP19-17619 Kidnapping, or leave an anonymous tip with Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers.
