Red Flag Warning issued for Eastern Washington
PENDLETON, Ore.-- The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag Warning for Eastern Washington and the Southern Columbia Basin for Friday.
The warning goes into effect at 2:00pm and is set to expired at 9:00pm, with high winds forecasted to be at their strongest from 4pm to 8pm.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather condition will occur, including a combination of high winds, low humidity, and warm temperatures which can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Meteorologists say winds could gust up to at least 25 miles an hour.
