Representative Dan Newhouse (R-WA) hosted a public listening session Thursday evening at the Richland Federal Building Auditorium, discussing dams on the Columbia and Snake Rivers.  The discussion centered on the dams effects on Central Washington and the Pacific Northwest, as well as recent legislative actions affecting the river system.

A panel of experts was present, including representatives from the United Power Trades Organization, Pacific Northwest Waterways Association, Tri-Cities Development Council,  Association of Washington Business, and the Washington Policy Center.

Newhouse stated that he, "Suports the dams and that breaching them would be a mistake."  He also added that he knows, "Not everyone shares that opinion."
