The suspect wanted in the shooting death of 30-year old Daniel Rice is now in custody.

Richland Police Lt. Chris Lee has confirmed that 27-year old Kyle Johnson-Clark was arrested on a nation-wide warrant in St. Louis, Missouri.

Police took Johnson-Clark into custody on Friday afternoon, following a brief stand-off.

The shooting occurred outside the Columbia Park Apartments, on Jadwin Avenue on May 3rd.

Police believe Johnson-Clark shot shot Rice several times and then got rid of the murder weapon in Leslie Groves Park, because the victim was spending too much time with his girlfriend.

Rice was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, where he died the following day.
