The City of Richland is compiling information that it received through a resident survey as it works to update its Master Plan for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Recreation Manager Julie Jackson says the city conducted an online survey recently to gauge how residents currently use the city's parks facilities, and and what additional parks and recreation programs and facilities the community would like to see the city implement.

"We asked people where they recreate, which parks they use, how they like to use the parks," Jackson said. "We also asked how they would like to use the parks, because maybe we don't have certain amenities they would like to see."

The city already works with private businesses to provide recreational opportunities that the city can't necessarily provide, such as boat and jet ski rentals along the banks of the river at Howard Amon Park.

The public is invited to the Master Plan meeting Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The meeting will be held in the council chambers at Richland City Hall, 505 Swift Boulevard.
