The Southridge Sports and Events Complex Pavilion in Kennewick will become the Numerica Pavilion as the City of Kennewick enters into a new sponsorship agreement with Numerica Credit Union.

The Kennewick City Council approved the name change at its Tuesday meeting.

Numerica will pay $680,000 to the city for the naming rights.

"Corporate partnerships help community assets to grow and thrive," said Kennewick Parks and Recreation Director Emily Estes-Cross. "The partnership will allow the City to promote upcoming special events and program on new signage."

Right now, the Pavilion doesn't have any signage, and is difficult to distinguish from other parts of the Southridge Complex.

Those funds will be used to pay for maintenance at the sports and events complex, and promote events being held at the center in order to attract more participants and more events.
