Teen suspect in custody, charged with assault in stabbing of 70-year old woman
Kennewick Police arrested a 16-year old male in connection with Wednesday night's stabbing of a woman outside of the Desert Villas Apartments.
Sgt. Jason Kiel says the 70-year old victim gave officers a good description of the suspect, and they were able to connect the description to some recent thefts in the area.
Investigators presented the victim with a photo montage-- several photos of similar-looking persons, and the victim was able to identify the male that officers say was also responsible for the other thefts in the area.
The teen was arrested at his home in the 1100 block of S. Gum Street several hours after the assault.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening stab wound to her side, and is expected to recover.
The suspect was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center on 2nd Degree Assault charges.
