RICHLAND, Wash.-- The parents of three juveniles have come forward in connection with the investigation into Wednesday afternoon's wildfire south of the Summit View subdivision off of Reata Road in Benton County.

Benton County Fire District One and several other agencies responded to the fire at about 1:09.

Witnesses reported seeing three males setting off Roman Candle fireworks shortly before the fire broke out, scorching more than 52 acres of brush, and threatening several homes as well as BLM land.

It took fire crews close to four hours to contain the blaze, and firefighters remained on scene overnight in case there were any flare-ups.

According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, the parents of the youth are cooperating with the investigation.
