Two men are in custody following a high speed chase in Kennewick early Tuesday morning.

Kennewick Police Officer Oscar Quiñones says an officer spotted a car in the parking lot at Circle K on Columbia Center Boulevard and determined that the license plates didn't match the white Honda Civic.

The driver headed out, and the officer tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle sped away toward Columbia Park Trail.

The vehicle hit a curb in a roundabout, popping a tire and forcing the vehicle to slow down.

Farther down Columbia Park Trail, an officer deployed stop sticks, disabling two additional tires.

Quiñones said the car then went off the road, and the driver bailed and ran away on foot, but officers took chase and caught up with him after about 100 yards.

The driver, Jesse Croxton, 33, is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

A passenger, Dru Brumley-Yule, 23, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.

A female passenger was questioned and released.

The stolen vehicle was slightly damaged as a result of the chase, and Quiñones said the ignition had also been punched out when the vehicle was stolen a few weeks ago.

(Story updated. Kennewick Police originally reported that Brumley-Yule's age was 29, but jail records show that he's 23.)
