OLYMPIA, Wash.- In an effort to not only stop the spread of the COVID-19 Virus, but to discourage people from gathering, both the Washington and Oregon State Parks Departments are closing all campgrounds.

In Washington, this means no new campers at State Parks, effective Monday through April 30th, while current camping will be phased out. Day use areas and trails remain open, although officials encourage people to practice social distancing while outdoors.

In Oregon, these same rules will apply, but will begin at the end of Monday.
