MOSES LAKE, Wash.-- Two people were sent to the hospital after a pick-up truck headed the wrong way on I-90 in Adams County caused a multi-vehicle crash Thursday night.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a Toyota pick-up truck headed westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-90, just west of the rest area between Moses Lake and Ritzville.

The truck, driven Christopher Mainard, 26, Snohomish, collided with a semi truck hauling two trailers, driven by Igor Chernetskiy, 28, Spokane, that was headed eastbound near mile marker 193. The pick-up then continued on, crashing into a Volvo, driven by Nefrali Alfaro, 26, Kennewick.

A fourth vehicle, a Nissan Sentra driven by Janita Martin, 50, Newman Lake, then crashed into the Toyota.

Mainard was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake with unknown injuries. The driver of the Sentra was taken to Adams Rural Hospital.

Troopers say Mainard faces charges for DUI and driving the wrong way on the freeway.

The crash remains under investigation.
